I’m a Junior Infrastructure Technician at Fraction Servers. I’m also learning a lot about networking and remote management tools like IPMI, which has been great for hands-on experience.

When did you start working at Fraction Servers and how have things changed during this time?

I started working at Fraction Servers in November 2023. Even in a short amount of time, I’ve seen the pace of work pick up as we take on more projects and grow. I’ve also noticed how quickly I’ve been able to build my skills, thanks to the supportive team and all the opportunities to get involved with real-world setups.

What has impressed you most since working at Fraction Servers?

No two days are the same and that always keeps things interesting.

Away from work, what do you enjoy doing?

While I’m not working, I enjoy going to the gym. I also like cooking new recipes that I come across during my weekends.

If I could have one superpower, it would be teleportation. It would be amazing to instantly get to the data center or help out at different sites without worrying about travel time plus, it’d be pretty fun!

Is there a particular tool, script, website, or piece of software that you find invaluable in your day-to-day job?

Definitely IPMI it’s become a go-to for remote server management. Being able to monitor, control, and troubleshoot servers without needing to be physically in front of them saves a lot of time and effort.

What do you like most about working at Fraction Servers?

The working environment, for sure. Everyone’s been incredibly welcoming and helpful, and there’s a real sense of teamwork. It’s the kind of place where you’re encouraged to ask questions, learn, and grow and that makes a big difference early in your career.

What was the first computer that you owned?

The first computer I owned was an Intel NUC. It was compact but surprisingly powerful, and it really sparked my interest in hardware and how systems fit together.

What are you currently working on for Fraction Servers?

Right now, I’m racking and installing a Supermicro Microcloud system. I’ve been configuring IPMI for remote management and carrying out hardware tests to make sure everything’s running smoothly before it goes into production.
