In our latest "Meet the Team" article we speak to Enzo who joined us this year and we find out what has impressed him most about Fraction Servers!

What is your job title at Fraction Servers and can you describe the role for us?

In my current role at Fraction Servers, I work as a Datacentre Engineer. My primary responsibilities include addressing customer support requests within the datacentre and deploying new physical, virtual, and cloud solutions for clients. I regularly configure and rack Juniper and Cisco switches and routers. Additionally, I handle general building maintenance and ensure that our infrastructure remains fully operational and secure.

When did you start working at Fraction Servers and how have things changed during this time?

I started working at Fraction Servers in March 2024 and recently, I’ve enjoyed installing and managing servers with the newer generations of Intel and AMD CPUs.

What has impressed you most since working at Fraction Servers?

No two days are the same and that always keeps things interesting.

Away from work, what do you enjoy doing?

While I’m not working, I enjoy going to the gym. I also like cooking new recipes that I come across during my weekends.

If you could have one superpower, what would it be?

One superpower I would love to have is knowing the cause of an issue and how to fix it immediately when customers are having problems or if something breaks

What got you interested in computers?

I had the most lovely teacher during school, and she made learning about computers really enjoyable.

Is there a particular tool, script, website, or piece of software that you find invaluable in your day-to-day job?

I’ve recently started using the FlexOptix Flexbox for configuring SFPs and QSFPs whilst at the rack via Bluetooth, it’s really handy for running diagnostic tests on SFP, QSFPs and other network transceivers.

What do you like most about working at Fraction Servers?

The most impressive thing about Fraction Servers is the people. They are extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to answer any questions you have with pleasure.

What was the first computer that you owned?

The first computer I owned was a Windows 7 PC with an Intel Core i3-530, 4GB RAM, and 1TB storage.

What are you currently working on for Fraction Servers?

We have recently taken a delivery of the latest generation Raptor Lake Intel Xeon CPU systems using X13 motherboards from Supermicro. Today I’ve been racking these systems, configuring the IPMI/out of band management and testing all the main operating systems that we offer are optimised for these systems.
